FireSmart Trail Signage
Site: Lesser Slave Lake, AB
Collaborators: Brian Olstad Redpoint Creative | Anna Robertson and Associates | Slave Lake Region Visitor Information Centre
Cut-outs in the shape of flames are a unique way to get fire safety information across on this sign at the Slave Lake Fire Hall.
This trail signage system is installed on the site of the FireSmart trail at the Slave Lake Region Visitor Information Centre.
The trail passes through land burnt in the 2011 Slave Lake fire, some of which has been reclaimed with FireSmart principles.
The signs were developed by the Lesser Slave Region Fire Service, Ag and Forestry, Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory and Lesser Slave Forest Education Society. Sawridge First Nation Elder Teresa Malatari assisted with plant information and usage.
