Le Breton Park
Site: Ottawa, ON
Collaborators: National Capital Commission | Pittoresco
This plaza on LeBreton Flats in Ottawa is an homage to the history of the area, including the 1892 Fleck Fountain, which was found in 2013. Panels and other elements around the site speak to the industrial heritage of the area, using materials like metal to recall days past.
The outdoor exhibit uses interpretive panels to explore the life and times of the area’s historical characters through text, photographs and concrete stamping. ALTO™ Aluminum panels were chosen due to their durability and excellent weather resistance, as well as the process’s ability to perfectly reproduce graphics.
