Site: La Grande-Envolée Park, St. Omer, QC.
Collaborators: Town of Carleton-sur-mer | Caroline Dugas | Magali Dal Cin
In celebration of its 250th anniversary, the small town of Carleton-sur-mer commissioned this larger-than-life Canada goose collage mural from illustrator Caroline Dugas and architect Magali Dal Cin.
Custom-sublimated panels and specialty cutting form the body of a bird in flight, its neck outstretched and wing feathers clearing the top of the building. The graphics include names of the founding families and illustrations of the town’s past, completed in vintage tones that recall archival materials.
Assembled from 12 panels, the goose is 20 feet high and a unique visual marker of place recognizable to locals and tourists alike.
