A major renovation at the Downey City Library led to an exciting new look, inside and out. The new main entry features the library’s name animated with bright lighting and colorful details, as well as a bold orange mural, made with ALTO™ Aluminum powder-coated graphics. The exterior was updated with a framed entryway in the form of a canopy, which supports new signage and an entry container.

The orange tones of the mural reflect the canopy and lettering on the façade, as well as the colors inside the library. Triangles in  shades of orange add playful movement to the space, which acts as a path to the main entrance, book drop-off, reading spot and a shady place to sit.
